It seems to me that the "Getting Started" and "Advanced styling & themes" have some error.
If you click the "see live demo" links, the pages appear with no styles applied. I tried to run the same examples following th3 docs in muy downloaded installation and the same happens. I think that some other css & js files are required, in addition to the mentioned in the docs: <link rel="stylesheet" href="iui/iui.css" type="text/css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="iui/t/default/default-theme.css" type="text/css"/> <script type="application/x-javascript" src="iui/iui.js"></script> Which are the needed files ?
