Hi all,
On MSI 9245 sata version.
kernel 2.6(this happens on RHEL 4, fedora core 4, fedora core 5)

we get the following message occasinally when using ipmitool:

IPMI message handler: BMC returned incorrect response, expected netfn 5 cmd 27, got netfn 5 cmd 2d.

It seems that sometimes messages responses are arriving out of order or that a request is getting lost.  This is more common on the LAN interface and shouldn't really happen on a KCS interface but it isn't unheard of and should be harmless.  In this particular example ipmitool issued a Get Sensor Threshold command and instead got a response for Get Sensor Reading.  Since this is probably happening during a sensor list these two commands are both sent frequently and intermixed and perhaps it is overwhelming the BMC's KCS interface.
