[Ipmitool-devel] occasional ipmi error

Hi all,   I am facing the similar issue using KCS interface as well, I suspect my BMC is responding slower than usual and caused this. I got intermittent failure while issuing getdeviceid continuously: “while true; do ipmitool raw 6 1; done”. Any idea on how to get it resolved? It only happened on RHEL4 and I don't see it in MV3.1 Driver.   System log file: Oct 11 10:28:44 localhost kernel: IPMI message handler: BMC returned incorrect response, expected netfn 7 cmd 1, got netfn 2b cmd 1c   Thanks, YM [Ipmitool-devel] occasional ipmi error brady chang Thu, 29 Jun 2006 08:47:24 -0700 Hi all, On MSI 9245 sata version. kernel 2.6(this happens on RHEL 4, fedora core 4, fedora core 5) we get the following message occasinally when using ipmitool: IPMI message handler: BMC returned incorrect response, expected netfn 5 cmd 27, got netfn 5 cmd 2d.
