Hello, i use ipmitool 1.8.8 on an IBM eSeries 346
Device ID : 32 Device Revision : 0 Firmware Revision : 1.16 IPMI Version : 1.5 Manufacturer ID : 2 Manufacturer Name : Unknown (0x2) Product ID : 3 (0x0003) Device Available : yes Provides Device SDRs : no Additional Device Support : Sensor Device SDR Repository Device SEL Device FRU Inventory Device IPMB Event Receiver IPMB Event Generator Chassis Device Aux Firmware Rev Info : 0x4b 0x50 0x42 0x54 With ipmitool i try to monitor the status of the harddisks/ RAIDs and the power supplies. When i use the "sdr list" command i get for the two power supplies: PS 1 Status | 0x01 | ok PS 2 Status | 0x09 | ok Both are shown as OK, but one of them is not connectet to the power line. Sure the hex values are different, but i dont know what they mean. The same goes for the disks Status - DASD 0 | 0x01 | ok Status - DASD 1 | 0x01 | ok Status - DASD 2 | 0x01 | ok Status - DASD 3 | 0x04 | ok Status - DASD 4 | 0x01 | ok Status - DASD 5 | 0x01 | ok All are shown as OK, but i have a RAID5 where i pulled a disk from. DASD3 has gone from 0x01 to 0x04 but is labeled OK. My question is now - are there any documentations where i could find the explanations for the hex values so i can use ipmitool in scripts ? The C-Source of ipmitool would be hard to understand for me because i am not a c-programmer. regards Jörg -- Joerg Hartmann Mercateo 06366 Koethen, Museumsgasse 4/5 Tel: +49 3496 512 100 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
