Good afternoon, I'm having some trouble with getting some settings to commit to a new machine I'm setting up. I've run my usual commands to configure the ip address of the onboard adaptor, but the machine is still not remotely accessible via ipmitool.
I did a dump of the network settings on this new machine and an existing machine and the only difference I can see is this "Set in Progress" line is set to "Set In Progress" on the new machine and "Set Complete" on the existing machine. Digging around good I've tried various commands such as: ipmitool -I open -A NONE sol set set-in-progress commit-write However whenever I try to use the set-in-progress command I receive: Error setting SOL parameter 'set-in-progress': Invalid command I'm honestly not overly familiar with the inner workings of ipmi so I'm not even sure if I'm heading down the right path. The machine is a Sun V60x and I've just installed ipmitool 1.8.8 just in case it was a bug in previous versions. Any advice would be appriciated, thanks. --- Matthew Laird Lead Software Developer, Bioinformatics Brinkman Laboratory, MBB Dept.
