Hi Petter! It's great to hear from you. :-) Thank you very much for being willing to help with general ipmitool maintenance especially since you have your hands full already with other maintenance duties.
I believe the most urgent need we have is to roll ipmitool to v1.8.9 so all the fixes since 1.8.8 will be made generally available. Duncan was working on rolling to v1.8.9 in September -- do you or anyone else know (or can you please tell us Duncan if you're reading this) what is left to do before the code is ready to roll? I think Jarrod Johnson just posted a patch to fix the SOL issue in the CVS tree he discussed recently. Is there a list of other work items left to be done (patches, testing, cvs admin/build work, etc.)? Maybe if we knew what the list of tasks were that needed to be completed for the roll, some of us might each be able to assign ourselves to a few of the work items so the actual roll wouldn't be that big of a burden on a single person? Anyway, please let us know what kind of help and how much help you would need in order to be able to post a new v1.8.9. Thank you very much again for your help, Carol Hebert P.S. I'll be happy to take a look at the patch you pointed to asap but hopefully some other folks with more ipmitool expertise will review it too. :-} On Wed, 2006-12-20 at 09:40 +0100, Petter Reinholdtsen wrote: > [Carol Hebert] > > I didn't see any responses yet to your appeal. :-( > > I did not see the appeal yet....
