To clarify, Dell IPMI firmware with or without a DRAC installed does
effectively press the power button for the chassis power control
functions.

Yes, DRAC seems to emulate power button press event which is caught by
ACPI.

But I want the shutdown sequence to complete before actual power-off
occurs.
Do you know how to delay this power-off so that user-scripts (shutdown)
can
complete their work? Is there a way to actually 'cancel' the power-off
altogether?
