Hi, How do I disable shutdown from being called after remotely issuing an IPMI chassis power off command?
I want to power off the machine immediately; no shutdown, no delay. Background: As an example case, the host is a Dell PE-2850 with a DRAC card installed so I can access this remote system's console. With a recent LINUX 2.6 kernel running, I issue an IPMI chassis power off or cycle to this remote host and observe its console via DRAC. The remote console shows the OS starts a shutdown sequence and it progresses through run level kill scripts. A few seconds later though, the power is pulled from the system. The OS never gets to complete transitioning to run level 0. Is this due to ACPI? Thanks in advance!
