What command line parameters did you specify? Did you specify the "- C" (for Cypher Suite) option? Also, what does the result from "mc info" show when using the Mac OS X version of ipmitool? (FWIW, I'm the software lead at Apple for all things BMC/LOM on Xserve.) I apologize for the confusion calling ipmitool on Mac OS X version 2. In hindsight, I probably should have done something different to differentiate our version. At a high level it still resembles ipmitool (upon which it was based), but behind the scenes it's been completely gutted to support our IPMI software infrastructure.
