It sounds like the Sun firmware is crashing when it receives this IPMI "user" command. You need to take this up with Sun Engineering and even if they feel this is a bug on the ipmitool side, it's also a bug on their side as their IPMI stack shouldn't crash regardless of what it receives. --David IHAC who got the error listed below. Could someone please look at this and reply. With Enterprise 4 linux (x86_64), I'm trying to configure the SP using ipmitool on a SUN SB6000 intel bladel. Almost everything works fine. However, when I try the followingcommand:ipmitool user set name 2 CSL ...I get the error Set User Name command failed (user 2, name CSL): Unspecified error>From that point forward, I can't access the blade LOM, either from ssh, or theweb gui, or ipmitool (locally or using the lan/lanplus protocols).I also can't shut down the host, nor can I reset the blade LOM using thechassis ILOM (reset /CH/BL0/SP). All I can do is power down the blade using thelittle power button on the front of the blade, and then pull the blade to removepower from the blade LOM. Then when I power everything back up, it's allgood again,as long as I don't try to run the command above again.------------------------------------------------------------------------ - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
