It sounds like the Sun firmware is crashing when it receives this IPMI "user" command.  You need to take this up with Sun Engineering and even if they feel this is a bug on the ipmitool side, it's also a bug on their side as their IPMI stack shouldn't crash regardless of what it receives.

IHAC who got the error listed below. Could someone please look at this
and reply.

With Enterprise 4 linux (x86_64), I'm trying to configure the SP using
ipmitool on a SUN SB6000 intel blade

l. Almost everything works fine. However, when I try the following

command:

ipmitool user set name 2 CSL

...I get the error

Set User Name command failed (user 2, name CSL): Unspecified error

>From that point forward, I can't access the blade LOM, either from ssh,
or the

web gui, or ipmitool (locally or using the lan/lanplus protocols).

I also ca

n't shut down the host, nor can I reset the blade LOM using the

chassis ILOM (

reset /CH/BL0/SP). All I can do is power down the blade using the

little powe

r button on the front of the blade, and then pull the blade to remove

power fr

om the blade LOM. Then when I power everything back up, it's all

good again,

as long as I don't try to run the command above again.
