I had to do 3 things to get this working:
1) Set BIOS ConsoleRedirection Terminal Type to VT100
2) Set my terminal emulator to VT100
3) Set my terminal window size to 80x24
This worked for my SuperMicro board.

I've been using Ipmitool SOL for remote control of a linux cluster

completely garbled and almost unusable. Any recommendations which
terminals to use as a front end - and what settings on both the
forwarding and receiving end.
Thanks for any help
