Hello, all.
I was dealing yesterday with an uninitialized FRU. Typical of an
EEPROM, it was set to all 0xff. Ipmitool complained about the format /
version being equal to 0xff. I did a little poking around, and I found
a version of the fru write function that had been 'ifdef-ed" out. This
old version did not seem to do any checking, so I tried using it and it
worked.
1. Can anyone point me to the discussion regarding the change?
2. Does it seem reasonable to add a command-line flag to use one
version or the other?
Also, what is the preferred method / format for submitting patches? I
didn't get any feedback from the diff file I sent last week.
