I want to make a daemon based on ipmitool's ipmievd.c. Instead of writing out to syslog, it would write the raw event data into a database used by the servicelog package ( http://linux-diag.sourceforge.net/servicelog/ ). The problem that I have is that the two libraries and all of the header files that ipmievd uses is not publically exported. The fix is easy with the patch file and the changed spec file. Perhaps libintf.la should be renamed to be libimpi-intf.la or something. What would be the reasons why the header files and the libraries are not exported into a devel RPM?
