You bring up a point that is critical regarding the flow and something I
am looking at now. How and when is the flow label used. Like you state
when RSVP is being used we should not aloter the flowlabel. I don't want
to use up bits in the flowlabel to identify the type of packet and I
don't think we can count on next header value. That is why I send mail
stating I liked the idea of a "selector" in an API. But how we convey
that to the routing layer is the magic we need. God forgive me but I am
playing with the use of a state machine for the network layer which will
also be useful for site/scopes and anycast for Hosts. :---)
