the more seriously you have to examine *incompatible* changes.

to hell with XP.  if we find a good use for flow label, and XP doesn't
support it, the poor folks using XP (and other legacy systems) will 
either have to deal with either not being able to take advantage of
that feature, or they'll upgrade.
