and I think it would be better to say - allow apps that only need temporary addresses to request them. - if they're not supported, no harm has been done - the app can make do with public addresses. rather than placing the burden on apps to explicitly request public addresses and changing the present behavior. address selection is just the wrong place to encourage use of temp addresses - the address selection code doesn't know the app's needs and can't reliably guess them from the information at hand.
