I do not see real problems with the protocol, but mainly how it's used 
(and how it's advocated to solve some problems like privacy).

If ISP's assign /48 prefixes to homes, those will be trackable.  RIR's 
also have expressed a requirement to have contact information etc. for 
every prefix in the WHOIS database.
