a. the # of applications is not a good indicator of the effect on
   the internet's utility

b. there are tens of thousands of apps that most of us have never heard
   of, that are vital for some purpose or another.  the value of the
   internet is not just in being able to support the apps that everyone
   has heard of, it's in its flexibility to support a wide variety
   of communications needs

giving the pig sheet music might help, but not much.

it's just one reason why putting SLs in the DNS won't solve the problems
associated with SLs.
