site-locals are a beam that is blocking the IPv6 "vision". either they will get swept aside, or IPv6 will run into a wall. the fact that half-baked ideas have gotten this far without an understanding of their consequences for applications, and without adequate justification for their complexity, is NOT an excuse for perpetuating them. and if the best argument you can make in favor of SLs is to appeal to past mistakes, your case is very weak indeed.
