So I've been looking over my installation for hours (35+) trying to find out where things are going wrong. I'm adding filters to my filter, taking them away, creating A records in my internal DNS server, adding A records to my external DNS server, stopping/starting the IM server, making a change on the IM server and clicking OK, opening the IM server to make another change. And so on, and so on.....
Feeling like I'm just not getting anywhere. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...... So the one thing I didn't do was allow the External Authenication database to be seen to users. I enabled it and now both external and internal users can see who is logged in, can see their respective status, can send receive IM's at will.... The only time things don't work quite right is when you hide the External Authenication database and make users create their own contacts. Many what is going on?
