I am testing version 1.04 and so far so good.

Nevertheless, I have found some differences between the 1.02 I had tested
and the 1.04 version. I also find other areas where would be very a nice a
development. My two cents for the IM developers.

Admin Interface:
-User List takes various seconds to load. Browse the list takes various
seconds too. In version 1.02 I believe that the users list refreshed faster.

-To see a detail of a user takes various seconds too.. when you click on the
name it takes between 7 and 12 seconds to edit the info.. way too much if
you want to edit a user fast. Once you save it takes another 3 to 4 seconds
to save the information of that user...way too long compare to most Windows
applications where you edit info from large lists. Imail server is faster.
It also takes about 4 seconds to sort a list by any column field.

-Same thing as above happens to the conversation store..way to long to load
the conversation list and edit them.

-Once the user is in the list, there is no way to add it to the public list
from the user list category. The check box is gray, there is no way to add
it to the public list from there. Unless you do it when you create it. It
would be very nice to do it after you created too.. since I just created 450
users with the adduser utility, and there is no way to edit it where you
want the user to be listed at.

-In the public contact list category when you add a contact the drop down
list is blank. In version 1.02 it showed you all your users. I uninstalled
and reinstall the IM to make sure.. but it is still blank. There is no sense
for that drop down list then. You have to type the names directly from the
keyboard. It worked before.. now it doesn't

-I would be very useful for admin purposes and security purposes to have a
conversation log directory separate from the server logs.

-It would be great to have in the admin interface a push text command that
you can use to send messages to all your users or group of users. That way a
company can send messages to everyone via the IM in an instant (and the ones
not connected will have it in their offline messages container).

Adduser utility
-Would be very useful to have a -p switch to assign a password (when using
IM server DB) a
-would be very useful to have -L (public list) /yes/no/ switch to point what
users should be included in the public list at once.
-Would be very useful to have -N name switch for the display name
so we could end having something like:
adduser -u alex -d domain.com -p charlie145 -L yes -n Alex Smith

Client
-When a conversation takes place and it is longer than the IM screen size
you have to browse from top to bottom by hand using the side bar, it doesn't
do it automatically...like all other messengers. When you receive messages
from the other party you won't see it until you go down using the side bar
of the IM client.

Finally in the KB and Help files
-Tell users about the adduser command file. Not just in the patch. I believe
that info doesn't exist in the KB.

Welcome Email from from evaluations at ipswitch.com
-It says:
o The Ipswitch Instant Messenger Support Center includes our KnowledgeBase
search engine, top KnowledgeBase articles, help files and more:
http://visit.ipswitch.com/IMcenter

the url above goes to "page you requested is not valid" I suggest ipswitch
to review the link, the redirection or the url address in that message.

My two cents, bye
        -Luis Arango
