I agree - while there shouldn't have been a need for tracroute
looking glasses for IPv6, in practice people come to IPv6 with a
mindset that says it is like IPv4 with bigger addresses, so we
should solve problems in the same way, even if there is a better
solution in IPv6. I guess I'm really trying to say that because we
don't use source routing in IPv4 doesn't mean it isn't a useful
facility, so if people understood the useful stoff that can be done
with it, they might use it.

Well, I have, but if you told me that I was the only person in the
world, I wouldn't be totally surprised. OTOH, not all the things
that only I do are a bad idea ;-)
