With a single IPv4 or IPv6 subnet on it? I'd be impressed if that's the
case. I've seen a 1200 node LAN with it, with 4 x IPv4s /24s on top of
it, proxy arp, and nodes with /16 masks to allow Netbios Name Lookups
to work without having to have a Netbios Name Server. At 10MB of
broadcast traffic every 25 minutes, it was ugly.

Or was your 'LAN' running PPPoE? I've done that too, and that was quite
reasonable. I'm confident you wouldn't be able to scale IPv4 a single
IPv4 subnet over such a 'LAN', but with MLD enabled switches and IPv6
you might be able to.

Regards,
Mark.
