KFSG is also a very old call sign. Prior to March of 2003 -- when the station
on 1690 in Roseville, CA. asked for use of the calls -- it was used in Los
Angeles by one of the very first AM and later FM stations - . KFSG stood
for "Church of the Foursquare Gospel" started by female preacher Aimee Semple
McPherson back in the 1920's. KFSG AM -- shared time on 1150 khz with KRKD
for well over 40 years and ended up on 96.3 FM. The KRKD towers and sign --
still exist atop of the Spring-Acade Building in downtown LA. And the site of
the 335 foot tall KFSG AM tower was located at the church at 1100 Glendale Blvd
-- in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. KFSG and KRKD also shared this
tower site -- for some time as well.
