Patrick, purchasing property up here is no problem. No restrictions on that (except that one cannot buy or sell native land.....unlike down your way apparently). Becoming a Canadian is more of an issue. You're not allowed to come to Canada and live here permanently without applying for landed immigrant status, which as I had previously mentioned, is not that simple. Might be better to own property here, enjoy less than 6 months a year here, and still have your primary residence south of the border.
