I did a little dashboard scanning this morning 9/18. Before sunrise WOR was covered with hiss from WGN. The audio was unlistenable. Right after Sunrise, WDMV 700 suffered from WOR's hiss machine and it was annoying listening to them. I am in their secondary coverage area and I bet they have lost some listeners as a result of WOR's IBOC. Their signal is normally listenable. WWII was completely covered with WOR's hiss.
Last night, 710 was completely covered with hiss from WGN. Before WGN fired up their IBOC it was possible to hear either Cuba or WOR with a decent listenable signal. Now that is impossible. Things will really get bad once WLW fires up their IBOC. Once WGN faded out this morning, WOR put in a decent enough signal here to be listenable. As noted before, WBZ, which was normally listenable in the mornings before sunrise on the way to work, was wiped out by WHO's IBOC. -- Bill Harms Elkridge, Maryland Check out the Spokane Radio History Pages http://spokaneradio.philcobill.com and the Spokane Radio Tower Pages http://spokanetowers.philcobill.com _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
