Dennis,

Rather than a regular 12V battery for the R8, I am thinking of that 7A
Gelpak (Quickstart) that Fred Meyer has, or at least one along those
lines. Napa Auto Parts has several, so I may find one with more Amps
that would run the R8 longer. The R8 is at 12V 2A, so I fiqure at 7A, I
should get 3.5 hours out of a charge, if I am correct. It has a built in
Walwart charger you plug it into the wall.
  Now, I wonder if I would just leave it always plugged in and run it
through  the 12V input of the R8 and that way, when the power was off,
it would be already set up. I have no idea if that would work or not
though.
