Dennis, Rather than a regular 12V battery for the R8, I am thinking of that 7A Gelpak (Quickstart) that Fred Meyer has, or at least one along those lines. Napa Auto Parts has several, so I may find one with more Amps that would run the R8 longer. The R8 is at 12V 2A, so I fiqure at 7A, I should get 3.5 hours out of a charge, if I am correct. It has a built in Walwart charger you plug it into the wall. Now, I wonder if I would just leave it always plugged in and run it through the 12V input of the R8 and that way, when the power was off, it would be already set up. I have no idea if that would work or not though.
