Russ, Like the furnature store down the street.People can still drive anywhere to buy that chair or sofa they want, then why can't the listener listen to any station? The TV industrty has pretty much killed cable or DBS systems from running out of market TV, with the exception of a few Super Stations and that remains to be seen, if the viewers can receive those after the conracts come up for renual in 2009. If someone "really" wants out of market TV, there are ways to get them, but for the masses, you are pretty such on watching only your local nets. I think some feel that radio may be going the same way. But of course, if a person has high speed internet, you can listen to radio anywhere in the world. Having a big dish, I get lots radio & TV services worldwide too.
