Hello Saul,

This is Gary, the Ultralight Radio reviewer for recent dxer.ca and IRCA
"Shootout" articles. Thank you for your interest in Ultralight Radios, and
I hope my recommendations will help you.

The SRF-59 is pretty much unique in the analog group, in that its
phenomenal 30-pin CXA1129 IC chip provides it with good sensitivity, amazing
selectivity, and legendary nulling ability. Digital Ultralight radios can
equal
or slightly exceed its sensitivity, but its selectivity is in a class by
itself-- quite amazing for a $15 radio.

For the best in the digital class... welcome to the white-hot
competition between Sony and Sangean! It's hard to say which one is "best,"
but for
general recommendations according to your priorities, here is what I would
suggest (I own all of these, along with a somewhat reduced bank account):

SENSITIVITY: Sony SRF-T615, Sony SRF-M37V, Sangean DT-200VX, Sangean
DT-210V

SELECTIVITY: Sony SRF-T615, Sangean DT-200VX, Sangean DT-210V

NULLING ABILITY: Sony SRF-T615 (exceptional), Sangean DT-200VX

IMAGE/ SPURIOUS REJECTION: Sangean DT-200VX (exceptional, in a class by
itself)

PRICE: Sony SRF-M37V (available for $17 on sales)

For further details, Saul, please either refer to the 2007 Shootout on
dxer.ca, or wait until we can clear the "Turkeys" out, and get the 2008
Ultralight Radio AM-DX Shootout underway. Good luck!

                         73 and Good DX,

                         Gary DeBock
