I've been tramping all over the tri-state (NYC) area and didn't get a chance to sit down and give this thing a close listen until tonight. I ran it through a whole bunch of noise reduction, and here's what I think I hear: There are at least two stations here, one with a woman's voice reading a phone number that ends in "34-71." Under that, the target station fades up with "and AM 960, WVPO, Talk Radio." There's a man's voice after that, just before the clip ends, that says "8:31 at WV" and then the clip cuts off. It's true that WVPO isn't on 960 - it's 840 in Stroudsburg PA - but the two stations simulcast with a talk format (no Air America, as it turns out; it's Imus followed by a bunch of second-stringers) and brand as "WVPO." The WPLY calls are used only once an hour. That's what I hear, anyway. I'm e-mailing Barry my noise-reduced version, which he's welcome to post... s _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
