     Thanks for the report.  The Amazon price of  $99 (via Wall Street Photo) 
for this SRF-S84 radio is obviously a huge rip-off,  and the model certainly 
is not worth anywhere near that price.   However, there have been reports of 
the same model selling for far less on eBay,  and if the price is down to about 
$40 including shipping, it would be a nice  curiosity piece... as the 
smallest Ultralight radio I have ever tested.
 
     For DX purposes, however, this radio will get you  nowhere.  Even with 
the magic CXA1129 IC chip, a 1-inch loop stick is not  about to thrill you with 
its reception abilities.  Analog enthusiasts need  to stick with the SRF-59, 
or its ultra-mean criminal brother, the SRF-39FP  (one of which has your name 
on it, Mark).
