I'm coming to the conclusion that short of a major TA opening, I am not
going to hear any TA's on the Ultralights from this location.
The DT200vx doesn't have the selectivity to trim off adjacent
even-channel pests of any strength, and that tends to eliminate most of
the most likely TA target frequencies, and I've not had much luck
trying to pull audio out of any hets so far with the SRF59, and the
difficulty of tuning may force me to use the ICF2010 as a spotting
receiver for the SRF59, which isn't exactly the way I'd hoped it would
go.
The true tests will come when TA's peak up again in the Fall, and of
course at the LBI DXpedition, whether used barefoot, with BOG's or
BBL's.
All of that said, the ULR's are still fun and very useful for domestic
DX thanks to their superb nulling abilities.
