Hi Gary,

Leaving an open carrier on the frequency for hours after the end of
programming has been Radio Marshalls' practice for a few years now. It's a
shame they don't broadcast even a recorded local program at this time,
because their OC signal can be quite strong around our local sunrise.

     Radio Marshalls (presumed) on 1098 had a booming  signal at 1242 with
absolutely no modulation,  either by accident or  design.  It sounded pretty
similar to a local with an open carrier.
