A shame indeed as this could be an easy (if there is such a thing) TP catch
for those well inland. I have actually had the carrier here in IL hetting a
faded WTAM near sunrise on a barefoot 2010.

Leaving an open carrier on the frequency for hours after the end of
programming has been Radio Marshalls' practice for a few years now. It's a
shame they don't broadcast even a recorded local program at this time,
because their OC signal can be quite strong around our local sunrise.

Radio Marshalls (presumed) on 1098 had a booming signal at 1242 with
absolutely no modulation, either by accident or design. It sounded
pretty
similar to a local with an open carrier.
