Another step backward this morning, generally lower signal levels, and as Dennis noticed, domestics seemed splashier. Lower band conditions continue better than higher band, signals were generally erratic, and there seemed to be a sharp sunrise enhancement around 1550-1600UT (according to the propagation monitor), but I wasn't sharp enough to catch it.
Listened from 1430 to 1510UT with a couple of stops by the radio thereafter. pretty darn good audio (at least briefly): 828 JOBB reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise): 594 JOAK at 1452, mostly lower level than this 774 JOUB at 1441UT, a few other times, but always briefly 972 HLCA, as always big carrier; came through at this level 1501 not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 693 JOAB briefly winning against the CBU splatter at 1504UT 747 JOIB 1377 CNR1 //5030 at 1506 1593 CNR1 //5030 at 1507UT Burbles in the splatter and noise: 279 R. Rossii at 1502 648 possibly VoR? 738 seemed to be Tahiti per direction and island mx; 1447UT 873 seemed NHK2 at 1444 936 at 1503 could have been CC? 1044 CRI? no // available 1134 1287 at 1445UT Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 639 seemed DU, 855 w/hum Anybody notice west coast TA's last night? Propagation monitor revealed fair peak in signal on 1215 after 0300UTC, but I was out. Had heard audio there earlier as posted on this list. best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
