Dennis, Yes, I remember the history well. An older man got the CP back in the 80s on 850 with 250w. I can't remember his name without checking the QSL. He was visiting stations on the coast and stopped in at KSWB. A very nice gentleman. He built the station and wanted Adult Standards on the air in the retirement community of Waldport. 250w daytimer on 850 was fine with him as that was enough. I think he got the whole thing up and running for under $50 K, tower, transmitter and all he said. The station was loved from the beginning. He sold the station a few years later and the new owner applied for 820 to get fulltime operation and to boost to 1 KW days. The station still never covered anything other than Waldport all that well. But the station had stuck with the adult standards format for years. First it was live, then later on when it was sold, they went to satellite. If I wanted to move to Waltport and didn't have a business to run, I would consider buying KORC. Not that expensive and it would be fun to operate. Waldport is a nice little coastal town.
