First, I tried again to pull in WXXI, and at 6:29 pm local time (Wednesday Oct. 21) I heard news that had that NPR feel to it, with thanks to several sponsors, the name "Renee Montagne" (spelling???), and finally the WXXI station ID right at 6:30. Not new, but infrequent, and first time at sunset.
This morning at 8:00 am, while the car radio was still on the same frequency, I heard some talk radio, and at TOH was station ID "WGOH". Turns out, they are a 5KW daytime station in Grayson KY, with a bearing of 176.9° and distance of 300 miles (approx). I'll have to check my logbook, but I'm quite sure this is new. Lastly, someone is running a mystery station, as I have heard some popular music, so I'll go back again tonight, and try again. 73 de Joe, KJ8O, Troy, Michigan _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
