Hi Mike; I had a computer failure in mid-late October so after doing a "factory reset" of the drive I had to go through the steps to reinstall and configure Perseus. I did indeed have to download and install Net Framework 3.5 and Com0com as well to support the timer software. No issues to report and my Perseus is working fine. I am using the "TOTH-Recorder" utility as it's the only one of several available Perseus timers I have gotten to work perfectly on this machine running Vista Home Premium. It has been a joy listening to and analyzing the morning TP's with 1600 Khz recorded bandwidth without having to get up at insane hours. You set the bandwidth, center frequency, start, stop times and duration right from the timer screen, and you can have as many sessions during the night as you want. I only use local time with the timer as it can be off an hour with UTC. As for Perseus itself, only UTC. I have not found a way to change it except by altering the computer's clock.

In order to realize more of it's incredible otential I would like to install the Perseus Record Scheduler ( ttp://prs.redirectme.net/ ) so I can record at all those unearthly TOH periods efore local sunrise, and, more importantly, long before I get up. However, in rder do that the instructions tell me that I need to download and instal icrosoft's .Net Framework 3.5. And the Microsoft download website tells me I eed to download and install Windows Installer 3.1. Before I attempt this I ould like to ask other Perseus users in the group about any potential pitfalls, roblems, dangers I might encounter doing so. Up until last night I had never ven heard of these programs, so I'm flying blind here and I am not i! nstrument rated. Any warnings, suggestions would be appreciated.
