Hello Barry,
It restarts the computer via BIOS with the required applications on. I
have tested it once, it worked at least on my desktop computer. Station
List help puts it this way:
/_Shutdown PC_/ will let the PC go into standby mode after every defined
recording task until the next pending recording. This saves power and
avoids noise caused by fans and harddisk.

the computer between timed recordings.
