Got up early this morning and started listening at 1340UT, for about 20 minutes, then snippets here and there until 1520, when I did another 20 minute session. It was actually a bit better than yesterday, with some good signal strengths on the big guns at times, though my impression is that the longer you listen, the more you will hear, because things fade up, often for short periods. For example, today, JOKR-954 was at near perfect listening level for a couple of minutes around 1421UT, with a telephone interview by two men. Would have missed it completely, but for some reason, left the R8 on that channel while getting on with other things in the room But finding that sort of serendipity makes DXing hard work though, and most of the stuff heard today was, as John mentions, in the "barely there" category.
pretty darn good audio, at least briefly (all of it understandable by a native speaker) 594 JOAK (sometimes with one more underneath) 774 JOUB 828 JOBB 954 JOKR at 1421UT 972 HLCA at 1520UT; this had been much weaker earlier and fighting with something else 1575 VoA at 1451 UT reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 639 CNR-1 //5030 at 1405; seemed to be something else there also. 747 JOIB at 1531UT not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 189 and 279 R. Rossii 666 JOBK //594 plus one more that was probably Mayak, logged later 873 JOGB //828 at 1421 and 1521UT 1287 likely JOHR at 1527UT Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 531 JOQG //594 549 likely Mayak, but never a // available 558 HLQH //603, plus JOCR likely in there also 567 JOIK //594, plus one other station 576 Mayak //666 at 1451 612 per DF, this was 4QR at 1400 and 1533UT 621 at 1350UT 648 presumably Russia, good carrier 657 w/hum, likely N.
