The K index had jumped to 3 this morning, and the solar wind jumped also, and
it's amazing what a difference that made in conditions. Today likely provided
the best X-band conditions from Australia in several years, but at the same
time the Japanese provided their best signals of the past few days. The
trans-polar stuff was not to be seen. (Though Farda on 1575 showed up a bit
later) This morning's audio:
531 Japan
594 Japan, good levels at times
693 Japan
774 Japan
864 unID, faint music at 1543
873 Japan, first time heard in several days
945 faint traces of audio
972 S.Korea
1116 Australia, 4BC, just traces of Aussie-accented talk
1134 unID, weak audio
1611 unID Australia, with weak music at 1518
1656 Australia, Brisbane (Chinese)
1701.05 Australia, Radio Brisvaani, Brisbane (Hindi), fair-gd at times, and
heard them give the www.brisvaani.com web site address
Also noted numerous carriers on the X-band, and earlier (1000 UTC) Radio Symban
on shortwave 2368.5 khz from Australia was doing well.
