Aside from that, most people don't realize that AM IBOC had much higher digital power from the get-go - it's about 12 dB below the analog carrier power, compared with 20 dB for FM IBOC. Not to mention the fact that AM IBOC is generally considered to be an abject failure. Too bad the diehards refuse to turn it off, and the FCC won't force them to do so.
