Was at Burnt River ON for close to a week, returned hom Saturday.
Not much activity on AM, as conditions were mostly down, but did log two new
catches. Also tried iout the new Tecsun PL-380, which Gary very kindly modified
with the ferrite bar antenna. Logged one new one on that. Nice nulls, but as
propagation was flat I did not get to work it under anything close to
interesting conditions.
Both from Wednesday's sunset (immediately post-sunset from my post):
1490 WOHI OH East Liverpool - Wed 14 Apr 2030 – "The Pickle WPKL", weather, PA
address and 724 area code in ads. New to Burnt River ON, heard on AOR7030+ on
temporary south wire and on Tecsun 380 ultralight radio modified with ferrite
antenna. New. (SC-BR)
1410 WSHY IN Lafayette – Wed 14 Apr 2144 – Bob FM jingle in apparent promo.
Sister station WBPE 95.3 is Bob FM. Heard on AOR7030+ on temporary south wire.
I did figure out who this was until this afternoon. New. (SC-BR)
I'm looking forward to a decent FM and TV e-skip and tropo season, though I
will keep an eye on cx without bothering to roll out the wires. The Tecsun will
make this an easy thing to do.
