Thanks Guy. I am not fond of phones for DXing. I do use them to dig out an ID from a CD or tape, but I rarely use them while DXing. The only exception is during a DX test to make out morse code. What I need more than Hi Fi, is the ability to knock out the wind noise completely. It is not loud like being next to the shore or a crying baby, but loud enough to bug me when I am trying to sleep. I know wearing headphones and sleeping might be a task, but at least it will knock out the noise an I can rest. Like the other night we had wind gusts 70-75 MPH that came up at 3 AM. Woke me up. I got up and stayed up until 7 AM and went back to bed when the gusts died down below 60 or so. As I get older the high winds bug me more. i am not alone in that either. Many neighbors older than I am (I'm 62), get bugged. The lights are on all over the neighborhood during the high winds. Other than that I love I coast. I always have. A good set of phones that cuts out the noise can be used to DX with or even watching TV too. It will keep me BP down too. Thanks again. I'll check out the ANC7's.
