CBR-1010 Calgary AB has applied to the CRTC to move its transmitter site from 50°56'17" N 113°57'42" W (a location in the SE corner of Calgary) to 51°02'24" 113°38'51" W, a rural location about 30 km east of Calgary beside the trans-canada highway. CBR will remain a 50 kW Class A station with the same directional pattern used at present.

Calgary, Alberta Application 2011-0547-9 Application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation relating to the broadcasting licence for the English-language AM radio programming undertaking CBR Calgary. The licensee proposes to amend the authorized contours of its transmitter by relocating the transmitter site from its current location in southeast Calgary to a new site 25 km east northeast in the Rocky View Municipal District. All other technical parameters would remain unchanged. The licensee states that the current transmitter site was built in the early 1960s and since that time, Calgary’s population has more than tripled. Urban development is now encroaching on the transmitter site resulting in significant population within strong signal contours. Continued growth in the area will occur because CBR’s transmitter site and much of the surrounding land is zoned for future urban development. 73, Deane McIntyre VE6BPO _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
