The closer you are to the beach, the better. I don't know if KUAU is running the 15 KW, but I doubt it. If you can get Tempe's signal fade at LSR in AZ, you are better off. >>As for 1500, I often get the San Jose station from here, but it's usually very weak. On some nights, I often get ESPN radio from KSTP St Paul, MN instead. Otherwise, it's a relatively clean part of the dial - my nearest locals on the dial are 1470 XERCN and 1550 XEBG. At night 1530 KFBK can put in a strong signal almost like KMIK, but not strong enough to intrude on 1500, and 1520 KOKC night / KVTA daytime aren't all that strong either. Sometimes 1510 KSPA Ontario can put up a bit of a fight, but it usually has nowhere near the signal that KMIK and KFBK do, and I have nothing close enough on 1490 to dominate the frequency at night (although I do hear one or two stations in the daytime).<< 1500 may be your best bet as other DXers in So Cal have reported Honolulu in the past. >>Oh... you don't think 10kW 760 KGU would have enough oomph to punch through a local 50kW co-channel (KFMB) from 7 miles away, do you? ;) As for 670, KIRN Simi Valley usually dominates the frequency, and is audible throughout the day.
