I checked today and yes the modem noise is still there, just less with the shield. I have hooked up a switch to just click it off when I want to DX. I can forward my calls to the cel phone so I will still get them. I will have to come up with something else. Maybe there is a dual Modem out there that does not QRN. If not, I will just have to turn it off. Not convenient but it works. At least the cable creates no noise. I also have an idea, the QRN may be getting into the power.
