Hi Nick (and Dennis),

<<< Here the kingpins were CRI-1323 and
HLCA-972. The former was "best" just before 1545UT, with pop ballad
and RR sounding talk by man and woman (i.e. not very strong), >>>

1323-CRI also made it here with good signals at times from 1315-1345, Nick,
managing its best audio ever (which never is very strong). The band here folded
up around 1500, but like yesterday, there was a large collection of anemic
Chinese stations that put in some kind of weak signal between 1400 and 1500 (on
639, 918, 927, 936, 963, 981, 1017, 1035, 1044, 1323 and 1593).. Like Bruce
mentioned, 657-Pyongyang was especially strong, and 648-VOR was also well above
average for most of the session.

73, Gary

Interesting stuff Dennis. Here the kingpins were CRI-1323 and
HLCA-972. The former was "best" just before 1545UT, with pop ballad
and RR sounding talk by man and woman (i.e. not very strong), the
latter didn't finally dive until after 1615UT; at 1608UT it was
recognizably KK talk by man, best on westerly Flag (FLG100) as that
allowed me to null interference from 980, but it was audible even on
the ALA100 square copper pipe loop, 54 inches on a side, which
theoretically shouldn't be good for much overseas.

For Gary's interest, I also tried hearing it on my tuned box loop,
that occasionally hears TAs, but its indoor location meant too much
computer hash I'm afraid, though the carrier was there, but only
weekly....I'll need to take it outside, but on a weekday morning I'll
need to be a work at this time, hi, so maybe next weekend.

best wishes,

Nick
