Hi Mark (et al), Thanks for comments. Fully agree, cx way less than stellar, almost painfully normal. Woke up at 4 am and had presumed Mexicans on 1140 and 1210, both weak, with some audio taken for possible identification. Sunset was a let-down - nice ID on 1030 KCTA Corpus Christi TX, which is a regular here, but I have since slightly regretted staying up from that point on. Last night's Au cx were more like an A/K of 5/1, 5/2 ... and I usually find levels like those to be a DX killer rather than seriously enhancing anything from the south or knocking down my semi-locals. I'm using a wellbrook loop outdoors. The wire is in triangle formation and pointed kind of ne-sw. Not sure I want to change directions. It's a new system here. It has pulled in some good stuff, a few good new catches - but it's not as directional as I expected (which has benefits as well as drawbacks: It handles enhancement when directions vary as time progresses, but I can do better in a few situations by simply turning my ultralight Tecsun.
