Hello All,

Despite the dire solar predictions the band sounded pretty healthy this
morning, as Dennis has already observed. Results here were similar to Dennis'
report from Kalama, although a couple of big gun Asians went on a romp here
during sunrise enhancement. Both the Japanese and Korean stations were well
represented, although the Chinese dropped off somewhat from yesterday's levels.

At my 1230 start time it was already obvious that Asian propagation would not
be in the tank, with 594-JOAK, 972-HLCA,1134-KBS and 1566-HLAZ in and out at
fair levels. During the predawn darkness these big guns set the pace, with
747-JOIB and 828-JOBB joining in occasionally. Just prior to the 1300 TOH the
Korean big gun 972-HLCA went on a romp which would continue for most of sunrise
enhancement, pegging the PL-380 S/N at times. 594-JOAK also had enhanced
signals with the daylight, along with 747-JOIB and 828-JOBB. 657-Pyongyang was
in and out with fair-level tirades from 1300-1330, and the 1053-Jammer got a
boost with the daylight. In contrast to yesterday audio from the Chinese
stations dropped off somewhat, though, with only 1044-CRI reaching a fair level
late in sunrise enhancement around 1328. Unlike yesterday neither 603-HLSA or
738-BEL2 managed decent audio, and the high band sounded pretty anemic after
sunrise. Best signal of the morning (by far) was from 972-HLCA, which managed
local-like strength for most of sunrise enhancement here. It managed the
strongest TP signal of the new season around 1312, pegging the PL-380 S/N
display with Korean female conversation.
